Job Responsibilities
  • Assist Director in developing and reviewing overall business plans and strategies that are aligned to the organisation’s overall strategic direction.
  • Assist Director in strategic planning and development of business unit’s performance. Develop and implement quality management strategies and plans (including resource, systems, timescales and financials) for business unit annual business plans. Manage overall targets and proactively monitor actual performance against target.
  • Proactive in business development and closing sales.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of existing and potential clients, their industry, and key contacts to maintain a pipeline of leads.
  • Meet prospective clients and ensure fee proposals and all follow-through is completed from “cradle to grave” process.
  • Step into the role of Director in their absence and assist Director in the management of the team.
  • Assist Director strategic planning and development of business unit’s performance. Develop and implement quality management strategies and plans (including resource, systems, timescales and financials) for annual business plans.
  • Provide excellent customer service ensuring clients receive prompt responses to requests and queries.
  • Responsible for overall client servicing of the group and accountable for any jobs lost due to controllable reasons, e.g. poor client service, missing deadlines, poor quality of work.
  • Responsible for ensuring that commitments to clients are followed up in a timely manner, that the clients are satisfied and to continually engage with clients.
  • Perform high-level review and provide value-add to the work to be submitted to clients.
  • Maintain good client relationship with close client communication, in order to assess customer satisfaction for possible improvements and identify possible expansion of services.
  • Review fee and propose fee increase where appropriate.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the respective groups / teams and ensure all communications with clients are supported by e-mails, outlining agreed action steps, responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Oversee credit control and prompt collection of debts for respective portfolio of clients. Work with Finance to follow up on outstanding and doubtful debts.
  • Ensure prompt Billing and be responsible for WIP. Perform finalization of WIP cost and be prepared to be answerable for write-offs.
  • Formulate and review accounting processes / policies. Identify and recommend improvements to current policies & procedures, processes and client servicing arrangements in line with current business and regulatory practices.
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of new or revised accounting, audit, tax and corporate secretarial procedures and records.
  • Provide and organize formal training for the staff.
  • Invest time into training Assistant Managers / Managers to enable them to carry out their roles effectively and efficiently.
  • Identify a successor for succession planning development and invest time in providing leadership training.
  • Proactive in staff recruitment, mentoring, development and career path planning.
  • Provide staff with regular feedback and evaluation.
  • Add value at Managers’ meetings and assist Director in following up on assigned actionable items in a timely manner.
  • Provide up to date and accurate management reporting and attend Management meetings on an ad-hoc and regular basis.
  • Work with IT on new IT initiatives for innovation and to improve productivity. Oversee successful implementation of projects, e.g. development of software, programs etc.
Requirements
  • Min 10 years professional accounting and auditing experience with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a managerial capacity
  • Experienced working in outsourcing/service provider environment
  • Nominated corporate secretarial
  • Experience in handling public listed clients or handle listed co work
  • Experienced in performing and managing internal audit projects and able to work with all levels of co-workers
  • Experienced in internal control concepts and able to apply them to plan, perform, manage, and report on the evaluation of various business processes or functions.
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS, knowledge in listing requirements and rules, Statement of Audit Standards and the Professional Practices Framework of the IIA is an added advantage
  • Experienced in performing and managing internal audit projects and able to work with all levels of co-workers
