Job Responsibilities
- Assist in development of strategies and plans to deliver high quality professional advisory tax services to achieve client satisfaction.
- Assist in developing overall targets forecasting business opportunities aligned to the Group’s overall strategic direction.
- Proactively meeting actual performance against targets and monitoring performance and productivity of subordinates and team.
- Collaborate and build relationships with clients both from within the firm and externally such as with regulatory bodies and generating fresh leads, identifying, spotting and leveraging on business opportunities.
- Collaborate with all internal business units both locally and regionally.
- Assist in preparing business proposals and transactions review on tax related issues, covering all business areas.
- Keep abreast with tax developments and practice and have knowledge of a broad range of tax issues including corporate, operational, consumption, business, personnel, transaction taxes and transfer pricing.
- Identify and assist in setting procedures and processes for the division to improve efficiencies and quality.
- Train, mentor and direct tax assistants.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field.
- 1 to 2 years’ relevant tax experience is an added advantage.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel essential) and good knowledge of Microsoft office.
- Good knowledge of Tax Reporting Standards, GST and relevant tax rules, procedures and guidelines is an added advantage.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in working styles.
- Organised, detailed and deadline oriented.
- Pro-active manner, willing to offer new suggestions and share knowledge.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability and willingness to learn and take on duties outside of job specification.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to meet tight timelines with good time management.
